Part of your care is not only what your doctor knows, but also what you know. NSCFF offers a wide range of educational and outreach programs for patients, families, and caregivers. Our patient and caregiver education programs provide answers. Our tiered educational programs are tailored to the specifics of each stage of the condition:

  • Beginner programs for newly diagnosed patients
  • Intermediate programs to help understand disease progression
  • Advanced programs regarding the late stages of the disease

Programs also cover topics such as new medications and therapies, community services for social support, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Caregivers are also part of the care team, and caregiver well-being equals patient wellness. Our caregiver programs are disease specific. We offer educational programs that include: stress management and relaxation techniques, skill-building programs on how to care for loved ones, and how to assist in care coordination and disease management.

We have partnered with Miami Dade College to establish a certificate program for caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s Disease.  With this certification, caregivers will have tools, knowledge, and resources to provide patients with the highest quality of attention and care. They will be able to recognize disease progression and emerging symptoms, and help manage psychosocial changes.

Many of the upcoming educational programs can be viewed on our Event Calendar, found at the top right corner of our home page!
